Anti-wrinkle injections have been gaining popularity in recent years due to their use by celebrities, but increasing affordability has meant that everyone can now easily access it. There are many different brands of anti-wrinkle injections in the medical aesthetics environment, but they all primarily act in the same way. This page focuses on treatment of dynamic lines and wrinkles with injections. For the treatment of deep static folds and volume loss, see our page on dermal fillers & vampire facial treatments.

Anti-wrinkle injections are a choice for people who want a little help to prevent the natural signs of aging, specifically dynamic skin lines and wrinkles. These include the commonly treated forehead lines, frown lines, and the crow's feet lines around the eyes.

At Aesthetique Skin Clinics, our resident doctor Dr Anish Berry is an expert in anti-wrinkle injections. Dr Anish is a cosmetic dental surgeon and an advanced aesthetic doctor who also works in the Harley Street District.

You can book your free no-obligation consultation with Dr Anish online. All we ask is for a refundable/redeemable online deposit to secure your booking, and make you aware that if you fail to show for your consultation without giving us 24 hours notice, there is a no-show fee of £50 for Dr Anish's clinic time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q&A with Dr Anish R Berry

How does it work?

The active ingredient in the anti-wrinkle injection acts to relax the underlying muscles of the face, to prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles when forming expressions. After your treatment, it usually takes 4-14 days for the full effect to occur, and this effect can last for up to 3-4 months.

Does this mean I won't be able to move my face?

Absolutely not! The administration and dosage of the injections are very specific to certain muscles which are responsible for the lines and wrinkles. The aim of the treatment is to have a more youthful, but natural appearance - I will work with you and discuss what you want to make sure that only you and I know you've had the treatment.

Does it hurt?

Anti-wrinkle injections are relatively painless, and most of my patients will say they are in fact comfortable. The injection used has a very thin needle and should not be felt.

What happens afterwards?

Immediately after the treatment I will rediscuss all post-operative instructions with you and give you an instruction sheet to take home. Remember it can take 4-14 days to fully work, and this is why I provide all my patients with a complimentary 14 day (2 week) review appointment. If we decide that you need a 'top-up' in certain areas, then I will also do this free of charge.

What about 3-4 months later?

When the medication has been metabolised by your body, then you will notice that it's effects slowly start to wear off. At this point, you will usually return to your starting point, or better. It is at this point you can decide to repeat your anti-wrinkle injection procedure, and if you do, you tend to find that the next set of results last slightly longer! There is no "requirement" to repeat the treatment, and you will be at no disadvantage if you decide not to.

Why not book a free, no-obligation consultation where we can provide you with a full facial assessment, and give you our advice and treatment plan with how we can help you.
